Scott and I are both fans of Tenacious D (the greatest band on Earth) and we were excited to learn that, just like the Clown Commandos house band, Pieface, The D created an extremely short 80′s training montage anthem: “To Be the Best” on their upcoming album: Rize of the Fenix. You may remember that Pieface already created a short 80′s montage training anthem for Issue #8: Big Red Boot Camp.
 

 
Now since The D is, of course, “The D” … their version totally rocks! However, Pieface still holds the title for the shortest 80′s training montage anthem being only 25 seconds long. Meanwhile, Tenacious D’s version comes in at an epic 58 seconds!

We’ve had to push back Issue #10 due to some technical difficulties. We’ve launched an app update that should take care of some reported problems. Be sure to update your app and please disregard any issue alerts you may receive. We should have Issue #10 available by the end of the month. Sorry for the inconvenience.

THE BAD NEWS: The issue is running a tad behind schedule. Sorry about that. So when your iPad or iPhone honks at you on May 1st, please disregard but be sure to check back in a few days.

On my way to some author visits in San Antonio, I saw this sign at a rest area. Another example of the drivers of this universe giving Clown Commandos a bad name. Then again, there’s not much room for clowning around in a tiny polka-dot camouflage humvee, is there?
 

 

 
Yes, it may seem that all has been quiet at Clown Commandos Central Command (that’s CC-CC to you and me) but we’ve not only been hard at work on Issue 10: Battle for the Nose, but also been very busy with an interesting new development in the world of the squeaky nose and red floppy boots.
 
We can’t talk about it now (you won’t even get a “honk” out of Corporal Honky) but keep checking back as we plan to update the usual suspects (Facebook, Twitter, yadda-yadda…) with the what’s about to go down in clown town.
 

 

 
Okay, so we finally got around to updating the official Clown Commandos Facebook page with FB’s new timeline format. Turns out, it wasn’t so tough and it looks pretty cool! Who knew?

Every now and then we like to feature a “clowns in the news” post. But guess what? During an election year, only presidential candidates come up in that kind of Google search!

That’s right, we here at Clown Commandos don’t always herald the exploits of our own elite squad of misplaced super soldiers, we often like to check in with “this world’s” version of the clown. In fact, you can see more of that in our almost-weekly “clown pic of the week” series on the official Clown Commandos Facebook page!
 
As you give these questionable clowns the once-over (and I think they snuck a mime in there), just remember that when it comes to Clown Commandos, the only people afraid of them are the bad guys!
